Painting Schedule
Listed below is a typical painting week. We can be flexible depending on the interests of the group. More harbours, less panoramas or more churches. Ithaca is not short of great painting locations. All are carefully researched to make
sure you get the best vantage points, have shade when you need or want it and that all appropriate facilities are nearby!
Day One
Arrival (non-painting day)
We will meet you at Kefalonia Airport and escort you to the port of Sami, then a short ferry or water taxi to Ithaca. You will arrive at your accommodation mid afternoon.
Time to rest, relax and explore.
Evening reception, introductions and dinner in a taverna in Vathy.
Day Two
Painting in Vathy
We’ll paint harbour views in & around Vathy.
For new painters there will be an introduction to plein air painting, check we all have the right equipment and then all do some drawing and painting exercises to get started.
We’ll finish in mid afternoon so plenty of time to rest, relax and explore before dinner.
Group dinner in Vathy.
Day Three
Sun, Sea & Secluded Beaches
Seascapes, beaches, crystal clear sea, beach activity, ruins near Vathy. Depending on time of year, flora and fauna.
Rest, relax, explore late afternoon.
Dinner in or around Vathy
Day Four
Churches & Panoramic Views
Travel to the beautiful mountain village of Exhogi with its old buildings, churches and stunning views across the island and beyond.
Rest, relax.
Dinner in or around Vathy.
Day Five
Harbour Views – Kuoni
Paint harbour views in famous, picturesque Kuoni.
Dinner in Kuoni.
Day Six
Boat Trip
Boat trip to secluded Gidaki beach (weather permitting).
We’ll bring a picnic, maybe even a bbq…
Rest, relax.
Group Private View, followed by final night dinner.
Day Seven
Departure (non-painting day)
We will pick you up from your accommodation and take you to Kefalonia Airport, via ferry or water taxi, in good time for your flight.
