Greek Painting Holidays
“I’ve been painting on the Greek Islands for many years but Ithaca caught my heart and is now my home. It is simply a fantastic place to paint. There is so much variety. From beautiful secluded beaches with crystal clear water, to
historic churches, mountains with incredible vistas and harbours. Boats, bars, people – all the ingredients to stimulate painters of all levels.”

Ithaca – Arts Destination
Not only is Ithaca an inspiring place to paint, and relax, but is a recognised arts destination. There is a growing community of Greek and international artists year round on the island. Every September there is the Paint the Lyric arts festival, inspired by Ithaca’s very own Odysseus, which draws painters and other artists from all around the world. In 2020 there were over 50 painters represented in the main exhibition.
Painting Holidays
“I have been painting for over 30 years but have really found my place on Ithaca. I’ve had so many of my artist friends and family visit and join me on painting trips around the island that offering painting holidays in Greece seems like the obvious next step. There is so much here for painters of all levels, that I can’t wait to show new artists around.”
About Me
“As an experienced painter (solo shows in London’s West End and work in private collections around the world) I look forward to welcoming you to Ithaca and tailoring the course to your level and requirements. There is nothing more inspiring than being out for a day with other artists, talking about the common challenges and different approaches to what you are painting, reviewing the output (constructively and only if you want your work reviewed), and then winding down and relaxing as a group. Tuition can be as formal or hands off as you are comfortable with. the most important thing is that you enjoy your art and don’t have to worry about any of the logistics of getting around or where you are staying. I know what works in terms of painting holidays and I know what works as a painter on Ithaca!”
Other Artists
As well as me, we will have other artists joining to provide tuition, feedback and inspiration. Depending on what the time of year and (in these strange times) availability we will be joined by different international and Greek artists.
For example, Aristoteli Parmijiano, the Creative Director of the Paint the Lyric art festival, and acclaimed painter will be supporting Odyssey Painting Holidays. Aristoteli was trained in the top Greek art schools, originally as an Icon painter, and then in Florence, and teaches and gives demonstrations on Ithaca, Patras and Athens.
